The Messengers of the King

The Workers Are Few
Matthew 9:35-38
35 Jesus went through all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the good news of the kingdom and healing every disease and sickness. 36 When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. 37 Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. 38 Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.”

As we go through our day we offer the gospel, the good news to people. Some receive it and some don't. We offer our time, treasures and talents, some receive and some don't. When we give of ourselves and people take, just to get what they want, we have to release that and move on, shake the dust. Help those we can help and release those that we can't. Jesus had compassion because he saw the crowds were harassed and helpless. God knows what it feels like to be harassed and helpless. But we are not to worry about what to do or what to say, God is with us and will guide our steps as we relay his message. Be blessed today. Find a blessing to give someone and move on if they are not receptive. Be sincere and loving in all your attempts to spread God's good news.
