Today

Thank You Lord for today.

Luke 21:34-36
34 “Be careful, or your hearts will be weighed down with carousing, drunkenness and the anxieties of life, and that day will close on you suddenly like a trap. 35 For it will come on all those who live on the face of the whole earth. 36 Be always on the watch, and pray that you may be able to escape all that is about to happen, and that you may be able to stand before the Son of Man.”

Thank You Lord for your intervention. We need to keep them respectful to us and our community. That man needs to clean up that store. Everything behind plexiglass. Stuff in the window for God know how long. He doesnt care. He makes money off the poorest of the poor. He must be held accountable to the point that he is respectful, clean and legal. That is not asking for too much. I love you. I love being around you.

Good Morning

Thank You Lord for today. This week has been a battle. We have a rebellious house brewing. Its hot and tension is high.

Ezekiel 3:27
But when I speak to you, I will open yoru mouth and you shall say to them, This is what the Sovereign Lord says. Whoever will listen let him listen, and whoever will refuse let him refuse for they are a rebellious house.

Is it a tax, is it a mandate, is it a penalty? Who the heck cares. Will people be allowed to have affordable health care, God I hope so. Will more people seek health care, God I hope so. Will there be a decrease in emergency room visits, possibly. The people have to know how to access this mandate to get the most their new right. Exposure to how this is not the worst thing in the world. Remove the good or bad connotations. too much negative emotional feelings. Get the truth out. Analyze each and every line of the opposition. Break down their argument, leave them straddling only, its not good for us to be healthy and not have to pay for those not insured.  What this is I don't know. What it can be is something great. A new begining.

I'm off on my walk. Walk in the morning, walk in the evening. Something is going to change on this old body. Be Blessed and be a Blessing to someone. I love you.

I Remember

I remember a hanky a long, long, ago.
God is so good. I listened to you this morning from 7am -8am. I still have my alarm go off at regular time. I watch Wimbledon early in the mornings now. Its the summer months and the French Open is over, Wimbledon is now and then the US Open to finish up the season. Tennis time. I only watch the slams.

I am so happy that something like the health care act passed in what ever capacity it did. What a win. Now we have to begin to work on a win and build a legacy. I pray this man can keep his interest in his wife and not leave a scandal to follow on this second term. Second termers often have a tendancy to get bored and let their guard down. Just ask some of his predecessors.

I pray we are looking at someone who wants to have a legacy that he did improve the health and economic situation of the least of us. If handled correctly, this could really make huge changes in the health and welfare of a huge majority of americans. You have got to improve the jobless situation. We love our veterans now. We love the military.

We have to remember that this freedom that we enjoy is not free. You have the ability to influence the military so that when even bigger wars and fights break out, and they will, our military will be the fittest, well equipped, and smartest military.

Support the families and mold the active duty so that they don't come home and beat their wives and kill others. Mental health is important. Character counts. Train them up the way you want them to be.

You are the leader of the free world. you have the resources for the military. No one wants to cut funding there.

Harlem Children's Zone is the best model on how to attack the problem. Take it to the military to help the families become more united with each other. United we stand, divided we will certainly fall.

My thoughts for the violence is to round them up, whip their---, then put them in the military or some boot camp and teach them discipline and how to focus on the positive in a strong and courageous way.

Some things you can't negotiate. But we seem to think we can talk to anybody. Get tough, and let them know who is boss. Firm but fair. Decisive and definite. Get the violence under control.

The talking heads have control, The reality is the military is the leverage that keeps powers under control. Those that think we can figh tour way through our problems will always want the military built up. This is where you have the ability to shape that military.

Groom the young into  officers so that in ten to fifteeen years when they have matured, your influence was tthe foudation. You do this right and you can have forty more years of good memories that influence a social and economic shift that uplift people.  Not just some one who was the first, but really isnt remember for anything else. Be remembered for greatness. Innovation and discovery.  When the republicans get in, war is emminent. Fear is their most effective weapon. Diffuse the situation with peacemakers that you have taught to think and plan and react and respond.

What will be the outcome of our nation? Our city streets are in dire need.I hope there is a cool breeze on the walk tomorrow. We have missionary work to do. Great is the need. Be Blessed My Love. Be a blessing to someone.

Now That I Understand

Jonah 1-4

New International Version (NIV)

Jonah Flees From the Lord

1 The word of the Lord came to Jonah son of Amittai: 2 “Go to the great city of Nineveh and preach against it, because its wickedness has come up before me.”
3 But Jonah ran away from the Lord and headed for Tarshish . He went down to Joppa, where he found a ship bound for that port. After paying the fare, he went aboard and sailed for Tarshish to flee from the Lord.
4 Then the Lord sent a great wind on the sea, and such a violent storm arose that the ship threatened to break up. 5 All the sailors were afraid and each cried out to his own god. And they threw the cargo into the sea to lighten the ship.
But Jonah had gone below deck, where he lay down and fell into a deep sleep. 6 The captain went to him and said, “How can you sleep? Get up and call on your god! Maybe he will take notice of us so that we will not perish.”

Thank You Lord. Make it clear. Don't let me wander aimlessly trying to figure out what is important. Lord I pray to be where you need me to  be. I want to do what you want me to do. This missionary work that you have us on is our life mission.

Lord I didn't want to actually work hard on stopping violence. I wanted to give it the appropriate lip service. Blame the gangs and keep it moving. But there is so much more involved. We ARE TO BLAME ALSO. INSTEAD OF WHITE FLIGHT WE HAVE BLACK FLIGHT. We can blame the culture the misconception of every one can do it, if they just work hard and treat each other with respect and kindness. You can only begin to succeed under that rule when the basic survival needs are met. Shelter is secure and healthy. Health is good and the basic ability to work is there. The problem is so evident. We need to help each other and the help has to come from people who care about the outcome. Not a bandage. Real surgery and stitches. Post op recovery time and rehabilitation. Restore confidence in the people who are in authority. Right now it looks like everything is out of control and no one is in charge. We try a little of this and a little of that. We never give up but we must actually reach the hearts and minds of the shooters. Their hearts are so hardened because they don't have any idea how to love and care for anyone including themselves. We can say that so easily but to show it to them and to walk among them and hear their ridicule and disbelief is hard. But know that we are sent to preach the word and those that can hear will hear and those that will change will change. We leave no one behind if there is any chance to save them. So I walk. I love you, so I walk because you asked me to walk. Be Blessed and be a blessing to someone. I love you.

Forgiveness

        Leviticus 19:18
“Do not seek revenge or bear a grudge against anyone among your people, but love your neighbor as yourself. I am the LORD.”

Matthew 18:18-22
18 “Truly I tell you, whatever you bind on earth will be[a] bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be[b] loosed in heaven.

19 “Again, truly I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything they ask for, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven. 20 For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.”

The Parable of the Unmerciful Servant

21 Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, “Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother or sister who sins against me? Up to seven times?”

22 Jesus answered, “I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times.[c]

You have charisma. I don't understand what your scripture quote means to me directly other than make peace, be kind, be patient, its all going to be ok.If I have been demanding, difficult, worrisome, please forgive me/. I know that you have so much on your plate right now its amazing that you are facing another day. I pray for you to have peace and compassion in everything that you do.  I got that. I talk to calm my nerves and clear my head. Thank You God for your grace. I want to cause no problems or worries. Lets practice peace. Lets remember when we are on our peace marches that we are cognizant of the neighborhood and stay off the peoples grass as much as possible. We dont want to go trampling their things without any regard as we tell them we come in peace to bring peace but cannot respect their property. Much Love, Be Blessed.

The term charisma (pl. charismata, adj. charismatic; from the Greek χάρισμα, (pronounced /kəˈrɪzmə/), meaning "favor given" or "gift of grace") has two senses: 1) compelling attractiveness or charm that can inspire devotion in others, 2) a divinely conferred power or talent.[1] For some theological usages the term is rendered charism, with a meaning the same as sense 2.[2] Since the 1950s, the term has become widely used, with varying meanings, in religion, the social sciences, the media, and throughout Western societies.

Compassion for the Fallen

Father God, help us to not gloat over the misfortunes of other people. We don't want to profit over someone else's loss but it seems to be the way of the world right now. When someone's house is foreclosed on someone else is able to get a good deal on a short sale. We take advantage of any opportunity that comes along, without caring where it came from. We should not feel superior because we profited from someone else's loss. When those around us are fallen we are not to kick our brother or sister while they are down. We have a fine line to work with in this situation. How do we respond to others misfortunes and still care for ourselves and family? We show sympathy, compassion and respect. We understand that but for the grace of God, I too can fall. We can take advantage of the situation with dignity and respect. We can help where we can and guide and protect what we can.

When we are looking at our video of life and find the moments when we have fallen and lost something valuable, we wonder how it happened? We know others are looking on with judgemental stares. How could this happen. We have failed. We lost our home. We lost our job. We have to live in a poor neighborhood. Sometimes through no fault of our own and sometimes it is clearly our fault. How do we move on? The strength of God tells me that he will never walk out on us. Never leave us. Never let disaster and destruction be the last word in our lives. We may not see the future, the children will do better. We have to show compassion and love for each other. Love is all we have right now. I love  you. Be blessed today and be a blessing to someone.

Obadiah 12-14
New International Version (NIV)
12 You should not gloat over your brother
in the day of his misfortune,
nor rejoice over the people of Judah
in the day of their destruction,
nor boast so much
in the day of their trouble.
13 You should not march through the gates of my people
in the day of their disaster,
nor gloat over them in their calamity
in the day of their disaster,
nor seize their wealth
in the day of their disaster.
14 You should not wait at the crossroads
to cut down their fugitives,
nor hand over their survivors
in the day of their trouble.

Have I Settled?

Have I settled for a life that is not what God wants for me? My idea of a relationship that is supportive of each other. Cherishing the time that they are together. Waiting to be together. Wanting to be together. Wanting to know what the other is doing, where they are, and can't wait to be with that person because it makes your world complete. You want to be able to wake up with them, whether they are paralyzed, sick or just fine. You want to communicate with them and so every time there's a decision to be made they are a part of it and input is sought and sometimes given whether it is sought out or not. You can love each other through the fights and never, ever go to bed angry. You forgive and decide that no matter how you may disagree on something, you are always together and will always be together and nothing will separate you or change your mind about that person.

But the reality is different. I have to pretend that I have not blown a wonderful chance with you. I have to pretend that there was not a Sunday afternoon, years ago, where we were in the basement hall, and you got down on one knee, when we were dancing with different partners, who meant nothing, but a distraction, and I didn't jump at the opportunity to have a life. That was in 2005. Pre dad, pre baby, pre daughter move in. Now my days are spent raising a grandchild, caring for aging, depressed, arthritic parents, and trying to encourage a daughter to complete a five year pharmacy program with less than two years down in the whole thing. Working at a crazy place that is truly challenging to me and over my head in meaness. Something that is necessary to work in this area and be successful. So this is my reality.

I can never give up on you. I will not give up on you. Its not been easy, we are like a couple in world war II. Writing letters to each other, only I am doing all of the writing. I don't get a response and I feel like I am talking to myself sometimes which is why I need you to be the one making the effort to do a scripture a day. I look for some communication from you daily. Daily I need to hear from you, touch your heart, know that you are mine and I am yours. But I know that isn't happening and I grow weary. I think you are more interested in the people you see and talk to every day. They are able to comfort you and make you happy. You see them everyday. Me, I'm once or twice a week and that seems to be enough for you. I'm just not satisfied with that. I don't stop hoping for more. I want to encourage you, strengthen you and let you know you are loved today and always. I do love you and will always love you.

Its a conversation on my mind. I have to talk about it and get it off my chest. Be Blessed and Be a Blessing to someone.

My Heart

Psalm 121:7-8 NIV
“The LORD will keep you from all harm— he will watch over your life; the LORD will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore.”

Psalm 7:9
Bring to an end the violence of the wicked and make the righteous secure— you, the righteous God who probes minds and hearts.

Proverbs 3:3
Let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart.

Sometimes we need to be a rock for someone Lord and sometimes we need someone to be a rock for us. Its a give and take situation. We have to trust you Lord to know what's best for us. We are so close, yet so far apaart. We are called to be a blessing for each other. We spend more time ignoring that simple gift. There is a calling on our life. There is greatness within us. Is this what we aresupposed to do with it?  We are stronger together than we are apart. Be Blessed. We work towards victory.

Do We Know How to Act?

Ephesians 5:3-7

3 But among you there must not be even a hint of sexual immorality, or of any kind of impurity, or of greed, because these are improper for God’s holy people. 4 Nor should there be obscenity, foolish talk or coarse joking, which are out of place, but rather thanksgiving. 5 For of this you can be sure: No immoral, impure or greedy person—such a person is an idolater —has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.[a] 6 Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of such things God’s wrath comes on those who are disobedient. 7 Therefore do not be partners with them.

Ephesians 5:8-14
8 For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light 9 (for the fruit of the light consists in all goodness, righteousness and truth) 10 and find out what pleases the Lord. 11 Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them. 12 It is shameful even to mention what the disobedient do in secret. 13 But everything exposed by the light becomes visible—and everything that is illuminated becomes a light. 14 This is why it is said:
“Wake up, sleeper,
rise from the dead,
and Christ will shine on you.”

Ephesians 5:25-26
“Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word,”

What Does God Want Me to See or Know?

What is it that makes this the highlight of my day? Lord what does the leadership of our country need to see and know? As Christians we do not like to tlak about the fact that we have enemies. We hesitate to label someone as an enemy. Yet enemies are real and sometimes quite evil. Their goal is to do us harm and dealing with them can occupy much of our thoughts. Other times we are our own worst enemy. What are the concerns weighing in on your mind? Give God your fears and frustrations. Ask God to send His Spirit to search you and to help you know what opposes his purpose. Ask God to empower you to change and move on. Ask God for what you want.

Peace March

Psalm 37[a]

1 Do not fret because of those who are evil
or be envious of those who do wrong;
2 for like the grass they will soon wither,
like green plants they will soon die away.

3 Trust in the Lord and do good;
dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture.
4 Take delight in the Lord,
and he will give you the desires of your heart.

5 Commit your way to the Lord;
trust in him and he will do this:
6 He will make your righteous reward shine like the dawn,
your vindication like the noonday sun.

7 Be still before the Lord
and wait patiently for him;
do not fret when people succeed in their ways,
when they carry out their wicked schemes.

8 Refrain from anger and turn from wrath;
do not fret —it leads only to evil.
9 For those who are evil will be destroyed,
but those who hope in the Lord will inherit the land.

God my heart is heavy because of the upcoming celebrations, marches and accolades and I know it places a burden on my loved one. I believe he will be thoughtful of the many different things that were done for him by his loving son. Remembering is a good thing. We don't ever want to forget a valuble life. Especially someone we were able to share time with. I believe two people will be missed. His own dad and his son. His dad loved him so. He stood with him to the end. He never left him alone. He loved him until the end. Comforting you is so important to me. I want it to be easier for you, but I know its not. So I will try not to be down about that and continue to encourage and love you the best way I know how.  I know God walks with you today. You have focused on the needs of your community and how important it is to value life. Lord I ask that we put down the burdens and fights and allow God to speak. Calm the distractions so that we can hear you Lord. I pray that those that are angry will seek the peace of God. It sounds simple enough but its so hard. All this is going on and someone asks me to seek peace? How can I do that?  Seek something that is so fleeting and fragile. Peace in God. Speak peace in our hearts and mind. Yes the economic situation is bad, speak peace. Yes, I am angry about a lot of stuff, speak peace. This happened to me and I want someone to pay, speak peace. I don't know where this comes from but I know that trusting in God is the only way to be successful and fruitful. We have to continue the plan to take care of one another. How can we say we love God when we can't seem to love the person in front of us who is made in the image and likeness of God? Its simple, but we have got to love one another, respect one another and forgive one another. It must be taught, taken to heart and actually lived. I love you and will continue to love you as long as I am here. Be blessed today and be a blessing to someone.

Faith in My Fate

Jude 1:17-21

New International Version (NIV)

A Call to Persevere

17 But, dear friends, remember what the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ foretold. 18 They said to you, “In the last times there will be scoffers who will follow their own ungodly desires.” 19 These are the people who divide you, who follow mere natural instincts and do not have the Spirit.
20 But you, dear friends, by building yourselves up in your most holy faith and praying in the Holy Spirit, 21 keep yourselves in God’s love as you wait for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to bring you to eternal life.

Thank You Jesus for your blessings. I was complaining about a bad situation and now I have a blessing. I will work, but on something that will be much more to my liking. Was I manipulated, yes, did I come out ok, yes. I will walk in God's promises. If he can do something aobut that situation then I know he can do something about other situations in my life. Have a blessed day today. Be faithful and focused. Its my last day, for a while. Yea. Close one chapter, open another. What a year. So much has happened. When I look back over my life in this one year, I have to say, thank you God. God you have been there for the bad times, the really bad times. You have been there for the good times too. I thank you for all you have done to encourage me to keep going and do the right thing.
I love you and my thoughts and prayers are with you. In my heart, I love you. You have my heart.

Words, Words, Words

Glory to your name Father God. There are so many different messages to listen to all around us. The different voices that tell us about God and how to maneuver through this world. Today and tomorrow I will be listening to a lot of different messages. Lots of different voices who will have an agenda. But where is God in all of that? I have to be a listener with a very discerning ear. I must be quick to listen and slow to speak so as not to become angry. Dear God I feel as if I am going to need this message more than ever the next couple of days. Strengthen me through this. People who have power and abuse that power are evil. I just have to get that out. I love you and pray for you daily. Life goes on and we are all dealing with the circumstances of life. We make choices that influence how people react around us. When we tell others of our plans we allow them to be able to manipulate our plans. I talk too much. I forget who I am working with. Vipers with nothing better to do with their time than to manipulate others. I will listen to them today but I will not like it. Lord, hold my tongue and let me get through these last two days. Lord let me hear your word and let me follow it. Two days. Remember to smile and say nice things. Be nice. You can do it. Don't be phony, just be yourself. God loves you.

James 1:19-27

New International Version (NIV)

Listening and Doing

19 My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry, 20 because human anger does not produce the righteousness that God desires. 21 Therefore, get rid of all moral filth and the evil that is so prevalent and humbly accept the word planted in you, which can save you.
22 Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. 23 Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like someone who looks at his face in a mirror 24 and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like. 25 But whoever looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues in it—not forgetting what they have heard, but doing it—they will be blessed in what they do.
26 Those who consider themselves religious and yet do not keep a tight rein on their tongues deceive themselves, and their religion is worthless. 27 Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.

Strong Faith

John 13:34-35

New International Version (NIV)
34 “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. 35 By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”

I pray for a strong faith. One that will help me to discern the true character of the people who are in my life. Allow me to be true and sincere. Let me not be led astray. Keep me focused on what is important. One more day and I am almost  there. I forgot about the class on Sunday. Just now I remembered when I thought about the books she asked me about. I need out of that group. I keep missing the meetings. I am not focused on any of that, I have to let it go. Now on to work and I pray that I will be able to discern the stuff that needs my attention.   Let me be faithful where I need to be and let go of what needs to go by the wayside. Be blessed today and be a blessing to someone. I love you.

Slow Learners

I ask God to firmly anchor my soul in Christ. Lord there is so much going on and we should be more mature about these things. We have a world that is continuing to be so very violent to one another younger and younger. Now the news is weekend violence just like the weekend update on sports. That is the latest sporting event. Violence.

Hebrews 5:11-6:3

New International Version (NIV)

Warning Against Falling Away

11 We have much to say about this, but it is hard to make it clear to you because you no longer try to understand. 12 In fact, though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you the elementary truths of God’s word all over again. You need milk, not solid food! 13 Anyone who lives on milk, being still an infant, is not acquainted with the teaching about righteousness. 14 But solid food is for the mature, who by constant use have trained themselves to distinguish good from evil.
6 Therefore let us move beyond the elementary teachings about Christ and be taken forward to maturity, not laying again the foundation of repentance from acts that lead to death,[a] and of faith in God, 2 instruction about cleansing rites,[b] the laying on of hands, the resurrection of the dead, and eternal judgment. 3 And God permitting, we will do so.4 It is impossible for those who have once been enlightened, who have tasted the heavenly gift, who have shared in the Holy Spirit, 5 who have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the powers of the coming age 6 and who have fallen[c] away, to be brought back to repentance. To their loss they are crucifying the Son of God all over again and subjecting him to public disgrace. 7 Land that drinks in the rain often falling on it and that produces a crop useful to those for whom it is farmed receives the blessing of God. 8 But land that produces thorns and thistles is worthless and is in danger of being cursed. In the end it will be burned.

Your Word

Nothing can separate us from your love. Your word reminds us that their is nothing impossible for our God. We must be at peace with our brothers and sisters before we come to the table. God is in our hearts and guides our decisions. God knows our weaknesses and challenges us to overcome them daily. When we least expect to be challenged, we are. There are many distractions, but don't lose track of the goal. The end point. Where do we want to go in this situation? What are we really upset about? What is there to even be upset about? In the whole wide world, this seems so small. There are much bigger concerns and problems than to concern ourselves with nonsense, but somehow it is on the surface. Nonsense. We know what to do and how to do it right. We still have the ability to mess up some stuff. Trust and believe in God. I will trust you, I love you.

Colossians 3

Living as Those Made Alive in Christ

Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. When Christ, who is your[a] life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.
Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry. Because of these, the wrath of God is coming.[b] You used to walk in these ways, in the life you once lived. But now you must also rid yourselves of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from your lips. Do not lie to each other, since you have taken off your old self with its practices 10 and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator. 11 Here there is no Gentile or Jew, circumcised or uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave or free, but Christ is all, and is in all.
12 Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. 13 Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. 14 And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.
15 Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. 16 Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts. 17 And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.

Instructions for Christian Households

18 Wives, submit yourselves to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord.
19 Husbands, love your wives and do not be harsh with them.
20 Children, obey your parents in everything, for this pleases the Lord.
21 Fathers,[c] do not embitter your children, or they will become discouraged.
22 Slaves, obey your earthly masters in everything; and do it, not only when their eye is on you and to curry their favor, but with sincerity of heart and reverence for the Lord. 23 Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, 24 since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving. 25 Anyone who does wrong will be repaid for their wrongs, and there is no favoritism.
