Mourning

21 Chronicles 28:20-21
0 David also said to Solomon his son, “Be strong and courageous, and do the work. Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the LORD God, my God, is with you. He will not fail you or forsake you until all the work for the service of the temple of the LORD is finished. 21 The divisions of the priests and Levites are ready for all the work on the temple of God, and every willing person skilled in any craft will help you in all the work. The officials and all the people will obey your every command.”

Zechariah 12:10

New International Version (NIV)

Mourning for the One They Pierced

10 “And I will pour out on the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem a spirit[a] of grace and supplication. They will look on[b] me, the one they have pierced, and they will mourn for him as one mourns for an only child, and grieve bitterly for him as one grieves for a firstborn son.

Revelation 21:4

New International Version (NIV)
4 ‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’[a] or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”

How do you mourn a loved one? Who can understand the pain and hurt that you feel? We all want to be able to say words to comfort and stregthen you. We want to please you. We all want to be accepted. We want to be accepted by our own people, our family our friends, those we encounter on a daily basis. When people accept us it can be because we fit into the box that they need us to fit into but sometimes we are working hard to project the right image and cover the faults that we think might make them not like us. If we could only work harder, live better, pray longer, have done something different, then maybe just maybe that would have put us on their good side. On God's good side. Maybe if we had just done the right thing, this wouldnt have happened. We can't earn God's acceptance, we are already accepted. We have to learn to live without that guilt. We did the best we could do. Release the guilt. Rest assured that God love you and there is nothing you can do about that. I love you and my thoughts and prayers are with you today.
